Augustus John & the First Crisis of Brilliance (2024)

£0.00

This is the catalogue from an exhibition I helped to curate at Piano Nobile Gallery in Portland Street, London, in the Spring/Summer of 2024. As well as featuring work by Augustus John there are also by his sister, Gwen John, and his friends Jacob Epstein, James Dickson Innes, Derwent Lees, Henry Lamb, Percy Wyndham Lewis and William Rothenstein.

There is an introductory essay, ‘The promise of astonishing genius,’ and each of the 45 works is illustrated in full colour with supporting text. It has been beautifully designed by Graham Rees.
